  • About Us

    The Mid Wales Inn is in the geographical centre of Wales, The original building is from 1760, we are on the B4518, 8 miles from Llanidloes and 4 miles from Rhayader in the small village of Pant Y Dwr.

    The pub has two unique carved bars, a restaurant and four bedrooms with ensuites or private bathrooms. We have an excellent selection of single malt whisky's.  Dogs are welcome in two of the rooms, the Blue twin and the Purple. We welcome motorhomes, bikers, cyclists, walkers, and holiday makers.

  • The Inn is heated and hot water is provided by an Eco Air source Pump. This Green option means the heating is set to a constant temp, without going on and off day and night. 

    We have been nominated for gastro pub awards and the welsh enterprise award. 

    Guests have access to their rooms all day after check in, the Bar and Restaurant when open and all rooms have tea, coffee making facilities, a TV, bathrooms, Wifi access, daily housekeeping and free parking . we are perfect for visiting most areas, an hour from Aberystwyth, 4 miles from Rhayader, 10 minutes from the Elan Valley, an excellent area for cycling, walking, bird watching, motorcycling, dog walking, and motorhomes.  

    Please note that Wifi and mobile phone reception can be limited in the Inn. TV signal is limited in the bedrooms, We do have a TV in the bar that has good reception.

    Also all rooms are upstairs so not suitable for those with mobility problems. We do have two handrails on the stairs. But non of the rooms have accessible bathrooms. Please note there are also steps to the toilets in the bar area , a step into the main bar, but we can provide ramps if needed. Any questions regarding Mobility issues can be addressed in an email or phone call.  For those with Allergies please note that two of the bedrooms are dog friendly and may have had dogs in previously, although we do clean them thoroughly. Also we have two dogs that live in the pub, they are allowed into the bar area and garden,  They also have to walk through the pub to the flat so will have been in the hall and landing.

    MEALS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO BED AND BREAKFAST GUESTS SUNDAY TO TUESDAY IF THEY HAVE BEEN PRE-BOOKED

    PARTIES AND GROUPS CAN BE CATERED FOR UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 20 SEATED, OR 75 BUFFET.

    Rooms can be noisy as they are above the bar area when functions are on, or on busy nights.
