• The Mid Wales Inn is a unique pub with a false thatch fibreglass roof, carved bars, friendly atmosphere, real fire and homely cooked food.

    Our small homely restaurant caters for our residents and visitors alike. We aim to produce high quality, good value food, using fresh and local ingredients where possible.

    We have four individually decorated and styled rooms with ensuites or private bathrooms. We can cater for families, small children, and dogs. Prices range from £60 to £100 a night.

  • About Us

    The Mid Wales Inn is in the geographical centre of Wales, The original building is from 1760, we are on the B4518, 8 miles from Llanidloes and 4 miles from Rhayader in the small village of Pant Y Dwr.

    The pub has two unique carved bars, a restaurant and four bedrooms with ensuites or private bathrooms. We have an excellent selection of single malt whisky's.  Dogs are welcome in two of the rooms, the Brown twin and the Purple. We welcome motorhomes, bikers, cyclists, walkers, and holiday makers. The Inn has an award nominated Restaurant and was finalist in welsh gastro pub of the year in 2015, 2016 and 2017. We have also won Welsh Enterprise Award 2017 for best Small country Accommodation in Powys.

    All rooms have tea, coffee making facilities, a TV, bathrooms, Wifi access, daily housekeeping and free parking . we are perfect for visiting most areas, an hour from Aberystwyth, 4 miles from Rhayader, 10 minutes from the Elan Valley, an excellent area for cycling, walking, bird watching, motorcycling, dog walking, and motorhomes.  

    I welcome all to my little inn in the middle of Wales.

    Please note that Wifi and mobile phone reception can be limited in the Inn. TV signal is limited in the bedrooms, We do have a TV in the bar that has good reception.

    Opening times 5.00 to 11 Monday to Friday, 12noon to 12.30am Saturday, 12 noon to 11 Sunday.  

    Restaurant open from 6.30 to 8.30pm, last orders 8.00pm. Closed Sunday all year and Tuesdays from Sept to Easter. (except for B and B Residents) Reservations are needed for Sundays and Tuesdays for the restaurant  and groups as it is small.

    Check in from 5pm. Check out 10am.

    Rooms can be noisy as they are above the bar area when functions are on, or on busy nights.
